Instructors

Head Instructor Jason Taylor

Jason comes from a military family, and started training in Martial Arts at a young age. Due to his family’s constant moving around, he was unable to achieve a high rank at any school he attended, and had to start again at white belt at the next one.

In 2014, he and his wife, Jennifer, took their daughter Sierra to a local Taekwondo open house, and loved it. Not only did he sign up at the same time as his daughter, but by doing so, allowed him to help her move through the ranks and keep her engaged.

Jason is a member of the USA Masters team, and has been recognized on their traveling team as a poomsae team member in 2025. He has competed in USA Taekwondo, becoming a national champion in Sparring in 2023.  He also competes in AAU, and was able to place on the podium in Sport Poomsae and make the Traditional Forms team in 2025. Not only does he compete in AAU, but he referees as well.

Head Instructor Jennifer Taylor

Martial Arts wasn’t initially an interest for Jennifer. Being a self-proclaimed high maintenance individual, Jennifer was more focused on maintaining her mind and figure.

One day, while running some errands, she came across a flyer on her windshield for a local Taekwondo open house. She took her daughter Sierra, believing that Taekwondo would help her learn how to defend herself if her parents were not around. Once Sierra had started Taekwondo, Jennifer fell in love with it and soon began training herself. The high energy and comradery of the students is something she really believed in and wanted to be a part of. She also loved the workout aspect of Taekwondo, pushing herself more and more to do things she never thought she would be able to do.

During a bout of training in 2021, Jennifer landed wrong while doing a jumping roundhouse kick and tore her ACL and Meniscus. Following surgery, Jennifer shifted her focus from Taekwondo to Hapkido, realizing that Hapkido was less about being able to do kicks and more about controlling close situations. Her love of Hapkido is also due to the fact that she can take her husband, Jason Taylor, down at any time.

Jennifer is a member of the USA Masters team, and was recognized on their traveling team as a poomsae team member in 2023. She competes in AAU Taekwondo, being a national champion in both Traditional and Creative weapons in 2025. Not only does she compete in AAU, but she is a referee as well. She has been featured on 10TV news for starting a program to help Taekwondo High School students in the Westerville School District credit for their PE classes through Taekwondo.

Head Instructor Sierra Taylor

Sierra started out as any normal kid would. She found a love for gaming early, and attended anime and comic con style conventions with her parents. Due to going to these conventions, her parents thought it would be a good idea to start her in Martial arts to help learn self defense if she ever found herself without them.

One day when she was 7 years old, her parents took her to a Taekwondo Open House, and Sierra loved it! She jumped right in, making friends immediately, but also showed a love for the art. She especially took to sparring, and was really good at it! She was able to earn her 1st degree blackbelt at 10 years old, while still in elementary school.

Sierra has continued her training and is currently a 3rd degree black belt. She has learned how to be an effective leader, and uses that to help other learn their curriculum while she continues to learn and perfect her own.

In High School, Sierra learned that she could earn her High School PE credit through Taekwondo. Her and her mother, Jennifer, were featured on 10TV news for having Taekwondo recognized as credit for PE in High School through the Westerville City School District.

Sierra has competed in many tournaments, and won first place in Poomsae, Sparring and breaking. She also competed in the largest age division in AAU and was able to podium at AAU Nationals in 2025. She aspires to attain at least a 5thdegree black belt in Taekwondo, and help train the next generation in the art.
